Twitter recently announced the new Retweet Feature which I personally is against to it. I don’t like suddenly having someone I don’t know in my twitter timeline. Here are the few more reasons why “Retweet Feature” really sucks..
- It puts strangers in my stream
- It takes away my ability to add my own commentary
- It takes away my visibility in my own network
- It excludes people who want to play
- Chang in the definition of retweeting

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Twitter’s management is too stupid to realize how vital the traditional retweet is to having meaningful Twitter experiences (see my post on the awesomeness of the retweet: http://is.gd/4PFbJ )
To demonstrate the stupidity of it … I just found pictures of Paris Hilton in my stream on the internet interface.
I did not come to Twitter to hear the wisdom of Paris Hilton.
The whole thing is ridiculous. The surest way to disappear into a black hole on Twitter, and lose all contact with your Twitter friends, is to use Twitter’s fake retweet button….
1. You can’t comment
2. You can’t edit
3. Your friends won’t know you’ve honored them with a retweet
4. You won’t know when your friends have honored you with a retweet
5. When you see the retweet you won’t know who’s sending it
6. Your friends using Twitter applications instead of the internet interface won’t see anything at all..
It goes on and on.
Surest way to take the social out of social media.
If I were running one of Twitter’s microblogging competitors, like identi.ca or friendfeed, I’m thinking “Twitter just lost its competitive edge… let me move quickly to institutionalize the classic retweet on my site”.

Switch to another language interface, and the new Twitter retweets will appear as traditional retweets.
I know this works for the Japanese interface but not sure about the other ones.
1. If you don’t want that, do to their page and press where it says “Retweets fromt his user will appear on your page”, which will change to “Retweets from this user will not appear on your page. It’s quite simple.
2. I agree.
3. What? That’s not a reason. What’s wrong with that? They’re just telling you who retweeted it.
4. I agree with that one too.
5. A “change in definition” isn’t a reason to hate anything. Would you be against women voting because it changes the definition of “voting”? some people were.
So to me you only have two minor reasons to hate it.
1. if you use the reply link, it replies to the original tweet instead of ur “friend” (sorry for my english)
